About the Role:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team full-time. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines and mechanical systems in heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses. This is a hands-on position requiring a high level of technical skill, problem-solving ability, and attention to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Detect and diagnose faults in diesel engines and related components
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other vehicle parts
Repair or replace worn and defective parts using appropriate tools and reference manuals
Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, engine tune-ups, and lubrication
Reassemble engines and systems following repair and verify proper performance
Conduct post-repair testing and make necessary adjustments for optimal operation
Use computerised diagnostic equipment to assess mechanical issues
Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness and advise or issue compliance certificates as needed
Maintain accurate service logs and uphold workshop safety standards
Qualifications & Requirements:
Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in diesel engine maintenance and repairs
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, suspension, steering, and braking systems
Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools and interpretation of service manuals
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Relevant licences or registrations (as required)
Commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
