Food & Beverage Supervisor

About the role

The Benson Hotel is seeking an experienced and motivated Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our restaurant, bar, and event spaces. This full-time position offers the chance to showcase your hospitality expertise while delivering exceptional guest experiences in the heart of beautiful Cairns.

What you’ll be doing

• Overseeing the smooth operation of the restaurant and bar, including staffing, inventory, and service standards
• Delivering outstanding customer service and resolving guest enquiries with professionalism
• Leading, coaching, and motivating the food and beverage team to achieve high performance

• Assisting with the creation and implementation of innovative menus, promotions, and service concepts
• Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations
• Supporting the profitability and overall success of the food and beverage department

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar supervisory role within a hotel or high-end restaurant
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire a team

• Excellent customer service focus and effective problem‑solving abilities
• Solid understanding of food and beverage operations, including inventory, menu planning, and cost control
• Proven compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing requirements
• Management-level experience with liquor licensing compliance (essential)
• Strong bar knowledge and hands‑on bar experience (essential)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with hospitality management software and POS systems
• Experience with RMS Cloud (preferred)
• Experience with POS systems (required)

• Australian work authorisation is required for this position
