How You'll Shine
The Head Chef is responsible for running the day to day operation of the kitchen, planning and designing menus that are in line with financial goals and is appealing to all guests, providing Food and Beverages in a timely and professional manner. This is a full time position, 38 hours per week.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Operate the Kitchen Department according to budget, complete monthly Food and Beverage performance review
Place highest importance to food safety and hygiene of food preparation as outlined in the HACCP principles and the local guidelines for catering establishments.
Prepare, produce and present all foods in accordance with identified Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards, commonly accepted in the catering industry.
Display eagerness to increase food knowledge and skills.
Strive to minimize food wastage.
Provide an exceptional Guest experience
Produce menu costing in accordance with new menus
Oversee roster production for the Restaurant to ensure required coverage
Communicate promptly, clearly and concisely to General Manager and team members on all matters.
High level understanding of Hotel, Restaurant and resort operations.
Comply with the company's OH&S Policy, procedures and any reasonable instruction given
What You'll Bring
Relevant trade qualifications
Previous Head Chef or Sous Chef or equivalent experience in a hotel or resort environment
A desire to deliver an exceptional Guest experience
An adaptive mindset and vision to deliver a quality product
The ability to work a flexible roster, inclusive of nights, weekends and public holidays
