This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role from day one of a brand-new opening by an existing brand that is relocating. Located in Sydney’s CBD, this venue is designed with intention — high-impact design, a beautifully functional open kitchen, and a multi-offering model that includes premium casual dining, takeaway, and a stylish bar space.
It’s perfectly positioned for corporate lunches, team events, and private functions — all in a precinct buzzing with weekday energy. It's a genuine hospitality-first space — clean lines, natural light, and flow — that will make service feel smooth and rewarding, not chaotic. You’ll be walking into a blank canvas that’s ready to be shaped, and you’ll have real influence from the very beginning.
The Food
The menu will be based around classic Italian a little Spanish etc flavours — simple, fresh, and seasonal. House-made pastas, artisan pizzas, and familiar favourites done really well. The food is light, clean, modern plating and crowd-pleasing — not overworked or overly styled.
But here’s the exciting part: while the framework is in place, the Head Chef will have a genuine say. Specials, tweaks, seasonal changes — your input is encouraged. The owner is positive, open-minded and collaborative. You’ll be supported, and trusted to put your mark on the food.
“No need to mess with the classics that work — but we want someone who can make them sing.”
The People
The owner is a true hospitality person— humble, smart, and supportive. He cares about doing things right, the team and building a culture of quality. You’ll be part of a small, experienced group that believes in doing things properly — from prep to people management.
This is a kitchen culture built on calm leadership, mutual respect and consistency. No egos, no shouty chefs, just people who love what they do and want to do it well.
The Role
You’ll be leading a tight team of 4–6 chefs, managing one smartly designed kitchen that services multiple offerings. This is a hands-on role for a chef who loves the line but can also think big picture — someone who can train others, stay calm under pressure, and maintain high standards even when it’s busy.
You’ll be trusted to run the kitchen — ordering, prep systems, rosters, specials, suppliers — while working closely with the owners to keep things fresh, efficient and exciting.
We’re looking for someone who:
Cooks with purpose and care, has a quality background
Leads by example and creates a positive kitchen culture
Understands Italian/Mediterranean food and knows how to keep it honest and delicious and beautiful plating
Works clean, calm and confidently under pressure
Wants to grow into a long-term role and build something to be proud of
This is a rare Head Chef opportunity in Sydney — a role with heart, creativity, balance, and backing. If you’re ready to step into a launch role where you’re trusted, valued and given space to thrive — we want to hear from you.
