Kellys Irish Pub & Balcony Bar is a large format regional pub in the popular wine tourist town of Mudgee. We are a family owned and run hotel, priding ourselves on working in the business ourselves, providing excellent working conditions and happy workplace.

We are looking to hire a head chef and sous chef as 1 team or separately. The current kitchen has both through to XMAS
We are excited about some changes coming to our business and are looking for a head chef to be part of this.
As Head Chef you will be responsible for the overall management of the kitchen, including but not limited to:
· Being responsible for managing daily food preparation and service.
· Maintaining expected quality of food.
· Monitoring food safety requirements.
· Bringing in a sous chef to the team in the mid term
· Operate 2 Kitchens producing different menus (one much smaller )
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ordering, stock control and budgets
. Rostering and wage budgets
· Liaising with management and ownership on kitchen
· Menu development, experience with Wood Fire Pizza advantageous
· Able to manage and train kitchen staff.
· Good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and HACCP
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced Head Chef who is a natural leader. You’ll understand what it means to develop and deliver a vision for the venue. You will understand how to develop a strong and vibrant kitchen culture.
Skills & qualities required:
· At least 2 years+ experience in a similar head chef role and similar if you are applying for Sous chef role only.
· A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude
· The ability to excel under pressure in a high-volume environment with great problem-solving skills
· Attention to detail to plating presentation
· Great teamwork and communication skills
· A desire to mentor and train other kitchen staff to improve their skills
· Must reside and hold a valid working visa in Australia. Discussions around sponsorship welcome for the right applicant.
