Some places are just somewhere to eat.
Others become part of people’s routines, memories, and milestones.
This venue sits firmly in the second category.
A well-established, consistently busy dining destination, it has been part of its community for many years — the kind of place guests return to without thinking, bring family to, and choose for life’s quieter moments and bigger celebrations alike.
Behind the scenes, the business is supported by a large, experienced hospitality group that understands longevity. They value steady leadership, sustainable rosters, and kitchens that run well because people respect each other — not because they’re burning out.
To protect the business and its existing team, the venue name and exact location will only be shared with shortlisted candidates.
The Role This role is for a Head Chef who leads with heart as much as with skill.
You’ll step into a hands-on leadership position within a high-volume operation where consistency, teamwork, and trust matter. Service is fast-paced and demanding, but it’s also familiar — a rhythm built over years, not weeks.
You’ll work closely with ownership and senior leadership to guide the kitchen forward, strengthening systems, supporting your team, and creating an environment where people know what’s expected and feel proud of what they produce.
This isn’t about reinventing the wheel.
It’s about steady hands on the wheel.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading a high-volume kitchen across à la carte and function service
Setting the tone on the pass — calm, organised, and supportive
Managing prep flow, ordering, stock, and daily kitchen operations
Evolving seasonal menus within a well-established offering
Collaborating with ownership on event and function menus
Training, mentoring, and retaining a diverse, long-standing team
Preparing the kitchen for peak trade and large-scale bookings
Maintaining food safety, compliance, and cost control
What We’re Looking For
Experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous in high-volume, quality-led venues
Strong foundations in modern Australian, grill, and produce-driven food
A leadership style that’s present, patient, and clear
Confidence with systems, rostering, food costs, and labour
Someone who genuinely enjoys developing people and building stable teams
A chef who understands that culture is built shift by shift
Why This Role?
Because at this stage of your career, it’s not just about the food.
It’s about walking into a kitchen where people know your name.
About leading a team that trusts you.
About being proud of how service runs — even on the hardest days.
If you’re looking for a role where your experience is valued, your leadership is felt, and your work genuinely contributes to something people care about, we’d love to hear from you. Venue name and full details will be shared only with shortlisted candidates.
