Our client is seeking a skilled and qualified Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable regional business and gain hands-on experience across a diverse fleet of vehicles and machinery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Key Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostic testing and identify mechanical issues
Analyse results and carry out effective repairs
Repair and replace diesel engines, transmissions, steering, braking, and lighting systems
Perform preventative maintenance on light fleet, prime movers, and agricultural machinery including cotton pickers
Test drive vehicles to assess performance
Maintain accurate records, service logs, and parts inventory
Ensure compliance with safety systems and workshop standards
Candidate Requirements
Trade qualifications in Mechanical, Automotive, or Heavy Vehicle Engineering
Demonstrated experience in diesel engine diagnostics and repair
Strong IT and problem-solving skills with the ability to self-diagnose faults
Physically fit with good attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Current and valid driver’s license
