Our client is seeking a skilled and qualified Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable regional business and gain hands-on experience across a diverse fleet of vehicles and machinery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic testing and identify mechanical issues
• Analyse results and carry out effective repairs
• Repair and replace diesel engines, transmissions, steering, braking, and lighting systems
• Perform preventative maintenance on light fleet, prime movers, and agricultural machinery including cotton pickers
• Test drive vehicles to assess performance
• Maintain accurate records, service logs, and parts inventory
• Ensure compliance with safety systems and workshop standards

Candidate Requirements

• Trade qualifications in Mechanical, Automotive, or Heavy Vehicle Engineering
• Demonstrated experience in diesel engine diagnostics and repair
• Strong IT and problem-solving skills with the ability to self-diagnose faults
• Physically fit with good attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Current and valid driver’s license
