A leading commercial refrigeration and air conditioning service provider operating across Queensland, Australia is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join their growing team.

This well-established business has built a strong reputation for delivering reliable, professional service and rapid response support to commercial and industrial clients. Due to continued growth and an expanding client base, they are looking for a skilled technician with experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.

The Role

This position involves the service, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial refrigeration systems across a variety of sites including food manufacturing facilities, cold storage operations and processing plants.

Key responsibilities include:

• Service, maintenance and repair of ammonia, CO₂ and Freon refrigeration systems

• Fault finding and responding to breakdowns

• Installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment

• System upgrades, alterations and plant conversions

• Scheduled screw and reciprocating compressor inspections and overhauls

• Maintenance of plate heat exchangers, blast freezing and cooling tunnels and chilled water/glycol systems

• Working with PLC and SCADA automation systems

• Participation in a 24/7 breakdown roster

• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in compliance with industry standards

About You

• Qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician

• Strong experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems a MUST

• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding ability

• Experience working on industrial refrigeration plant

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

• Current driver’s licence Highly Regarded

• Experience with CO₂ refrigeration systems

• Knowledge of PLC or SCADA control systems

• Experience within food manufacturing, cold storage or processing environments

• Experience with gas detection systems and industrial plant controls
