Senior / Intermediate Tax Accountant (Client Advisory) — Sydney (Full-time) | Proprietary AI Automation
About TAX7
TAX7 Accountants is an innovation-led accounting firm based in Sydney. We built and own a proprietary AI system that converts client bank statements into compliant bookkeeping, BAS and financial reports—so our accountants can spend far less time on data entry and far more time on what matters: client relationships, tax strategy, structuring, and guidance.
If you're strong on tax, great with people, and want a role that's advisory-focused (without drowning in bookkeeping), this is for you.
About the role
We're hiring an Intermediate / Senior Tax Accountant to manage and grow a portfolio of clients through high-quality advice, clear communication, and proactive planning. You'll work closely with senior team members and use our internal AI tools to deliver faster, cleaner outcomes for clients.
This is a client-facing role. You'll be trusted to communicate confidently, identify planning opportunities, and provide practical strategies clients can implement.
Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
Compensation (Base salary or 40% revenue share)
Tax7 Group operates a 40% revenue share model. For senior team members, compensation is the higher of:
a base salary, or
40% of the revenue from your managed client work (as applicable).
What you'll be doing
Manage ongoing relationships with a portfolio of clients and be their key point of contact
Co-lead or lead client meetings (depending on level) to understand needs and provide clear guidance
Deliver practical, compliant tax planning to help clients minimise tax and improve outcomes
Provide advice on structures (companies, trusts, and related setups) and implementation guidance
Review and sign off on outputs produced by our AI-enabled workflow (BAS, reconciliations, financials)
Prepare and/or review tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs (depending on experience)
Ensure compliance standards are met and documentation is complete
Identify process improvements and contribute to better workflows and client experience
What we're looking for
Strong attention to detail and accountability for quality
Strong client communication skills — you can build trust and explain tax clearly
Solid Australian tax knowledge and the ability to propose workable strategies
Degree in Accounting (with at least one tax subject completed)
CPA/CA qualification preferred but not essential
3–5 years experience in tax accounting or a similar role (more welcome for senior)
Experience preparing personal tax returns at H&R Block, ITP, or similar retail tax agents (highly regarded)
Comfortable with tax software and modern accounting technology
Experience with Xero, MYOB, or LodgeiT accounting platforms preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team
If you're excited to join a firm where technology handles the repetitive work and accountants focus on clients, strategy, and structures, we'd love to hear from you
