Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Warehouse Engineer to lead our warehouse machines operations and drive efficiency, safety, and accuracy across all functions.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong mechanical & electrical knowledge to maintain machinery, assist with daily production tasks. This position is eligible for Subclass 482 Sponsorship VISA under certain conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general mechanical & electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and other mechanical & electrical systems
Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and preventive maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
Assist in the setup and adjustment of production lines and equipment.
Provide welding and fabrication support as required.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work in accordance with food safety requirements.
Supervise and manage staff involved in production maintenance tasks.
Support quality control initiatives to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Assist in other production and warehouse-related tasks as required.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
· Equipment Downtime: Maintain machinery uptime of 95% or higher through timely maintenance and repairs.
Preventive Maintenance Compliance: Complete all scheduled maintenance tasks on time, maintaining 100% maintenance log accuracy.
Response Time: Respond to production line breakdowns within 1 hour to minimize production loss.
Quality Assurance: Ensure zero food safety incidents related to machinery maintenance.
Cost Efficiency: Minimize maintenance costs while maintaining high operational standards.
Staff Management: Ensure maintenance team performance meets operational standards and training compliance is achieved.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement at least 2 process or efficiency improvements per quarter.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing or confectionery.
Familiarity with packaging machines, such as Flow Wrappers, Carton Packers, Conveyors, and Overhead Weighers, Blow Moulding Machine, Liquid Filling Machines is a strong advantage.
Welding experience is essential.
Forklift operation skills are desirable but not mandatory.
Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to variable hours during breakdowns or production adjustments.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and adherence to strict hygiene standards.
Desirable Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications in food safety, HACCP, or industrial maintenance (preferred).
Experience with warehouse automation, conveyor systems, or material handling equipment in food operations.
