We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Fabricator / Welder to support our agricultural and mechanical operations. This role is essential in maintaining, repairing, and fabricating metal components and structures used across farm equipment and infrastructure.
This position is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents, and applicants with full working rights. Visa sponsorship may be considered for a suitably qualified candidate if no suitable local applicants are identified.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for fabrication.
Cut metal sections using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and machinery.
Shape and bend metal sections and pipes with hand and machine tools.
Align components with measuring instruments before assembly.
Join metal parts via welding, bolting, and riveting.
Inspect welds for accuracy and quality.
Clean and finish products through polishing, grinding, and filing.
Smooth welds by chiseling and grinding.
Conduct equipment inspections and keep records.
Ensure tools are cleaned and stored properly.
Support workflow by notifying management during peak periods. Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workshop. Perform additional duties to support operations.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience as a Metal Fabricator or Welder, Relevant trade qualification (or equivalent industry experience).
Experience with MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques (preferred).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Good physical fitness and capacity to work outdoors in varying conditions.
English language proficiency suitable for workplace communication.
Valid Australian working rights (or eligibility to obtain a visa)
Working Conditions
Full-time position (38 hours per week)
Overtime and weekend work may be required during peak periods
Work schedules coordinated with the Team Leader for operational efficiency
Combination of workshop and on-site work in outdoor environments
Employment Conditions
Salary of $65,037 per annum, plus superannuation
Overtime and entitlements in accordance with applicable legislation and awards
