About Botanica Garden Products

Botanica Garden Products is a Queensland-based manufacturer specialising in organic fertilisers, soil conditioners, and premium garden products. Our production facility operates industrial processing equipment including mixers, conveyors, screening systems, tanks, piping systems, and structural steel installations.

Due to continued operational growth, we are seeking an experienced Welder / Metal Fabricator to support fabrication, installation, and maintenance of plant equipment and structural components within our manufacturing facility.

About the Role

This is a full-time skilled trade position responsible for structural steel fabrication, welding, installation, and repair of metal components used in fertiliser manufacturing operations.

The role aligns with Metal Fabricator and requires a trade-qualified professional with relevant post-qualification industry experience.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Studying engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
• Marking out, cutting, shaping and assembling metal sections and plates
• Fabricating structural steel components including frames, brackets, hoppers, chutes, guards and plant supports
• Performing MIG, TIG and Arc welding to industry standards
• Assembling fabricated sections using welding techniques and mechanical fasteners
• Repairing and modifying plant machinery including conveyors, mixers and processing equipment
• Performing preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Inspecting fabricated components to ensure compliance with specifications
• Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) regulations
• Maintaining workshop equipment and safe working practices

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or recognised overseas equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years full-time, post-qualification relevant work experience
• Strong proficiency in MIG, TIG and Arc welding
• Experience in structural steel fabrication
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Strong commitment to safety and quality standards

Desirable:

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial processing plants
• Experience working with heavy plant equipment
• Forklift licence (advantageous)

Employment Conditions (482 Compliance)

• Full-time permanent position (minimum 38 hours per week)
• Salary above the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT)
• Genuine ongoing role within manufacturing operations
• Employment conditions equivalent to Australian workers
