We are currently seeking passionate and experienced Occupational Therapists to join our growing teams in Alice Springs (NT). International candidates are welcome to apply – Subclass 482 visa sponsorship is available.
Responsibilities and duties:
1. Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' physical, cognitive, emotional, and social abilities.
Identify clients' strengths, challenges, and goals related to daily living activities and functional independence.
2. Treatment Planning:
Develop individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings, client goals, and evidence-based practice.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, psychologists, and rehabilitation specialists, to create holistic treatment plans.
3. Therapeutic Interventions:
Provide hands-on therapy and interventions to improve clients' motor skills, coordination, sensory processing, and adaptive behavior.
Teach compensatory strategies and adaptive techniques to help clients overcome barriers to independent living.
4. Equipment and Assistive Technology:
Recommend and prescribe adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and environmental modifications to support clients' functional abilities.
Conduct training sessions to educate clients, caregivers, and support staff on the safe and effective use of equipment and technology.
5. Training and Education:
Offer training and education sessions to enhance clients' self-care skills, community integration, and vocational readiness.
Provide guidance and support to caregivers and family members on strategies for promoting independence and optimising the home environment.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal review, external referrals, and funding agencies as required.
7. Professional Development:
Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in occupational therapy and disability support services.
Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Key Criteria includes:
Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
Tertiary qualifications in the relevant field (Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy)
A current Working with Children Check
Police check
Minimum 1 year of experience
Willingness to work in regional locations
Valid driver’s licence (desirable)
Ability to commute/relocate:
Alice Springs NT 0870: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Bachelor Degree (Required)
Licence/Certification:
AHPRA registration (Required)
