Your next career opportunity
As a Research Fellow you will conduct high standard research within the School of Mathematics and Statistics as part of an ARC Discovery Project in integrable probability. You will undertake research on solvable lattice models for stochastic processes, including branching processes, and contribute to the supervision and mentorship of research students.
The project sits within the broad area of Integrable Probability, led by Chief Investigators Professor Jan de Gier, Associate Professor Sophie Hautphenne, and Associate Professor Michael Wheeler.
Your responsibilities will include:
Engage in research to meet ARC Discovery Project objectives, and advance knowledge in solvable lattice models and stochastic systems.
Publish in high standard discipline journals, present at seminars and conferences, and contribute to research grant submissions.
Supervise and mentor postgraduate students, contributing to their academic growth and development.
Engage in School initiatives and promote critical enquiry within the community.
You may be a great fit if:
You possess a PhD in mathematics or a related field, with expertise related to solvable lattice models and stochastic processes, and an ability for collaborative and high-standard research and student mentorship.
You may also:
Experience in assisting with supervision of students undertaking undergraduate or higher degree research projects.
Aptitude to learn and apply new mathematics to problem solving.
The ability to attract external funding through grant applications and/or support in funded joint projects with others internal or external to the university (desirable).
Experience relevant to research in integrable probability (desirable).
