About the Role

Talink is seeking a Senior ERP Systems Engineer to join our Applications Support practice in Melbourne, working in a hybrid capacity and embedded within a key enterprise client in the manufacturing and distribution sector.

This role focuses on the support, stabilisation, and ongoing operation of legacy ERP platforms running on IBM i (AS400). You will play a critical role in maintaining business-critical systems and ensuring operational continuity across a complex ERP landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level support across ERP systems including BPCS, ASW, and IBS
• Diagnose, triage, and resolve complex production issues across application, integration, and batch processing layers
• Support day-to-day operations including system monitoring and batch job management
• Act as a senior escalation point for critical incidents and recurring issues
• Support and maintain integrations and interfaces across ERP and middleware layers
• Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to problem management and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support change implementation activities including analysis, testing, and controlled deployment
• Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and knowledge artefacts
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams, including providing guidance to offshore resources
• Identify opportunities to improve system stability, performance, and supportability

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 10 years' experience supporting ERP systems on IBM i / AS400
• Strong experience with one or more of the following: BPCS, ASW, IBS
• Demonstrated expertise in BPCS is essential for this role
• Hands-on experience with RPG (RPG III, RPGLE/ILE), CL, and DB2/400
• Proven experience supporting complex, highly customised ERP environments
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving capability
• Experience working within structured incident, problem, and change management processes
• Ability to work effectively in hybrid and distributed team environments

Desirable Experience

• Experience within manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environments
• Exposure to integration tools such as IBS Integrator or similar
• Experience with EDI or file-based integrations
• Familiarity with IBM i change management tools (e.g. Aldon, TurnOver)
