We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our talented culinary team at the hotel Australasia' in the picturesque coastal town of Eden, NSW. As Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of our bustling kitchen, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This is a full-time role based in our Eden location.
What you'll be doing
Assisting the Head Chef in the planning, preparation and execution of all menu items
Supervising and coordinating the kitchen brigade, delegating tasks and providing training and mentorship
Ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation and service
Maintaining strict adherence to all health, safety and hygiene protocols
Participating in menu development and cost control initiatives
Fostering a positive, collaborative work environment in the kitchen
What we're looking for
Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Formal culinary training or qualifications in Commercial Cookery
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent formal culinary qualification required
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of passionate chefs
Excellent time management, organisation and problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality cuisine
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with front-of-house and senior management
Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment
