• Provide inpatient and outpatient clinical services incorporating principles of best practice.
• Contribute to the after-hours on-call roster.
• Provides services in the activities of the Department as agreed with the Head of Department.
• Establishes and oversees activities to review resource utilisation and develop appropriate strategic plans and procedures for their efficient and effective use.
• Encourages and facilitates teaching and research appropriate to the role of the Department.
• Ensures relevant Occupational Safety and Health practices and standards are implemented and maintained.
• Ensures the development, implementation and maintenance of performance management systems which support the ongoing development of individual and team performance and skills for medical, technical, and administrative staff.
• Ensures a system of continuous quality improvement that systematically evaluates, identifies opportunities for improvement and plans to implement strategies to meet customer needs.
• Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
