The Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a fixed term Staff Specialist Medical Oncologist vacancy from 2 February 2026 until 3 April 2026.
The Staff Specialist - Medical Oncologist will:
Provide a senior role in Medical Oncology and related services at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).
Provide outpatient care to the patients of RHH in all aspects of Medical Oncology.
Increase the RHH clinical services in Medical Oncology as required by the Head of Department.

The Role
Patient Care:
Provide Consultant Service to inpatients.
Conduct or direct outpatient clinics if needed in all aspects of Medical Oncology.
Participate in quality assurance programs for the Medical Oncology Department.
Teaching:
Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate specialist trainee teaching.
Liaise with the University of Tasmania’s Department of Medicine in respect to the teaching of undergraduates and Registrars.
Research:
Maintain an active involvement in research.
Management:
Responsible to the Head of Unit (Medical Oncology).
Liaison with the University of Tasmania’s Department of Medicine on issues relating to undergraduate teaching and research.
Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
