About the role

We are seeking an experienced Thai Chef to join our team at Ruby Modern Thai in Rye, Victoria. The position will see you leading the wok cooking in our vibrant kitchen, creating delicious and authentic Thai cuisine for our customers. Based in the beautiful coastal town of Rye, you will be an integral part of our close-knit team, contributing to the delivery of exceptional dining experiences.

What you'll be doing

1. Prepare and cook a variety of Thai dishes using traditional wok cooking techniques
2. Ensure all meals are prepared to the highest quality standards and presented beautifully
3. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items.
4. Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic work environment
5. Adhere to all food safety and health regulations
6. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience (1+ years) as a Thai Chef, with a focus on wok cooking
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality Thai cuisine
• Excellent knowledge of traditional Thai cooking techniques, flavours and ingredients
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for creating innovative and visually appealing Thai dishes
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
