A well-established regional public mental health service in Victoria's Hume Region is expanding its clinical team and has four vacancies across three programs. We are recruiting on their behalf and welcome applications from experienced mental health clinicians - including those looking to relocate from interstate or overseas.

The Roles:
Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4 - Community Mental Health
Fixed Term to June 2027
This role sits within a newly established local mental health and wellbeing service providing assessment, treatment and support to adults 26 and over with mental illness, psychological distress or co-occurring AOD issues. As a Grade 4 RPN you will bring specialist nursing expertise to a multidisciplinary team that includes lived experience workers, working across the full continuum of community-based care.
Salary confirmed: $121,274 to $130,603 per annum base (pro-rata, NP75–NP77 band)
What you need: AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse | Postgraduate Diploma or higher in Mental Health Nursing | Minimum 5 years RPN experience | Community mental health background | Knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
Mental Health Triage Clinician - x2

The Mental Health Triage Service is a 24/7 telephone-based service and the central access point for all referrals across Adult, Older Adult, Infant, Child and Youth mental health programs in the region. These are senior, autonomous positions - you will triage callers using the Victorian Mental Health Triage Scale, conduct independent risk assessments, formulate safety plans and connect people to the right level of care in real time.
Across day, afternoon and evening shifts the role is primarily phone-based. On nights you move into the local hospital ED to conduct face-to-face mental health assessments whilst holding a mobile for incoming calls.
Full orientation and supernumerary shifts are provided until you are confident.
What you need: Minimum 5 years mental health experience | Strong independent risk assessment skills | AHPRA registration (RN, OT or Psychologist) or AASW eligibility | Willingness to work a rotating 7 day roster including nights | Triage experience desirable but not essential
Clinician - Acute Response
Permanent
The Acute Response Team responds to referrals of people experiencing acute mental health conditions or psychological distress where a clinical assessment is required. You will work closely with the hospital ED as well as in community settings including consumers' homes, conducting comprehensive mental health and risk assessments and formulating individualised care plans. The roster runs 7 days, 0830 to 2130.
This role is open to RPNs (Grade 3), Social Workers (Grade 3), Occupational Therapists (Grade 3) and Psychologists (Grade 2).
What you need: Minimum 3 years post-graduate mental health experience | AHPRA registration (RN, OT or Psychologist) or AASW eligibility | Confidence assessing independently in community settings | Sound knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
