We are seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our hardworking and friendly team that has long been trusted by the community. The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing light motor vehicles to ensure they operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

Skills and Experience

Applicants must have either:

• A Certificate III or higher trade qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology, or a closely related field, together with at least one year of relevant work experience; or
• At least two years of relevant work experience as an Automotive Mechanic.

Key Responsibilities

The Automotive Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles, including petrol and diesel engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering systems, brakes and other mechanical components.

Duties

• Consult with the Workshop Manager to prioritise and complete scheduled servicing and repair work.
• Service and maintain light motor vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using manual inspections and diagnostic equipment.
• Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble engines, transmissions, steering, suspension and other mechanical components.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged or defective parts, including bearings, hydraulic hoses and batteries.
• Tune engines and adjust mechanical systems to improve performance and reliability.
• Repair, fit and adjust braking systems.
• Test, balance, rotate and align wheels.
• Order required parts, lubricants and workshop materials.

The position is also available to foreign residents, but applicants MUST currently be in Australia with work rights. We can offer employer sponsorship for a 482 or 494 DAMA visa.
