Elementi Restaurant is looking for a skilled, experienced Chef to join our small team in a neighborhood Italian Restaurant in Paddington, QLD.

This is a full time position with a salary of $77000-$80000 per year with possibility of sponsorship for the right deserving candidate.

Salary is based on 38 hours a week divided in 5 working days.

We are looking for somebody with a great sense of responsibility, work in a team and eagerness to learn and grow within the business.

Responsibilities include:

• studying recipes
• helping in menu development
• contributing to a team work environment
• inventory, stock & orders as well as preparing high quality Italian dishes
• delegating tasks and ensuring meals are prepared in a timely manner.
• Set up kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment like knives, pans and kitchen scales
• Informing wait staff about daily specials and contributing to a rotating creative specials
• Ensure appealing plate presentation
• Supervise cooks and assist as needed
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers needs and requests (i.e. dietary restrictions, allergies, slight modifications such as reduce salt, remove dairy etc.)
• Ensure ingredients are fresh and of quality and discard out-of-date items
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (i.e. grillers, pasta machines, dough machines, meat slicers etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of cooking, baking and pastry techniques
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
• Familiarity with santiation regulations
• Retribution and hours of work

Qualifications:

• Minimum one year of proven experience as a chef
• Relevant qualifications preferred but not essential
