About the role

TOROS STEAK HOUSE is seeking an experienced and qualified Chef to join our professional kitchen team in Mount Barker, South Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in accordance with menu standards.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, presentation, and consistency.
• Assist with menu planning and development of new dishes.
• Supervise and support cooks and other kitchen staff.
• Manage food preparation and kitchen operations during service.
• Monitor stock levels, ordering, food costs, and wastage.
• Ensure correct food storage, temperature control, and stock rotation.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS requirements.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and work areas in a clean and hygienic condition.
• Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service.

About you

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant full-time commercial kitchen experience.
• Strong cooking, food preparation, and presentation skills.
• Experience supervising kitchen staff.
• Knowledge of food safety, stock control, food costing, and waste management.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Visa sponsorship may be available for a suitably qualified and experienced applicant.
