The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Diabetes will provide a clinical consultancy service to patients, families, staff, and other health professionals within Busselton Hospital and the wider community. You will be instrumental in promoting excellence in clinical standards and quality care, while also demonstrating leadership and role modelling within a dedicated team.
The ideal candidate will have:
Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with credentialed diabetes educator status.
Extensive clinical experience and a proven track record of specialist knowledge in diabetes care.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead effectively.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to design, implement, and evaluate Quality Improvement Projects/Activities.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
Current knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to healthcare services.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Provide advanced clinical leadership and consultancy on diabetes care to multi-disciplinary teams within the hospital and regional facilities.
Develop, implement, and evaluate educational training programmes for clients and healthcare professionals.
Maintain and monitor high standards of care across the service, ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and policies.
Facilitate collaboration with regional and community health providers to enhance diabetes services.
Conduct data analysis and formulate actions to improve clinical outcomes and service delivery.
