In this role, you will provide a comprehensive clinical consultancy service consistent with a Primary Health Care philosophy, delivering exceptional care to clients, their families, and fellow health professionals across the WACHS South West region. Your expertise will be key in promoting excellence in clinical standards and quality care, while also demonstrating effective leadership and role modelling.
The ideal candidate will have:
Registered Nurse eligible for registration by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Credentialed diabetes educator status or actively working towards it within 6 months of employment.
Extensive clinical experience and specialist knowledge in diabetes management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of best practice principles and experience in quality improvement initiatives.
Current C or C-A Class driver's licence with the capability to travel within the region.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Provide clinical leadership and consultancy to healthcare professionals across various settings.
Develop and implement clinical guidelines and nursing policies based on evidence-based practice.
Promote excellence in the delivery of customer-focused services to clients and their families.
Develop and evaluate educational training programmes for clients, staff, and health professionals.
Monitor and review accreditation standards for the Diabetes Service, implementing necessary actions.
