Our client is looking for an experienced Commercial Vinyl Flooring Installer to join an established Western Australian team working across a range of major commercial, industrial and remote projects.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You will work on a variety of commercial and remote flooring projects, installing high-quality vinyl flooring and completing associated preparation and finishing work.

The role will suit someone who is confident working independently, understands the demands of commercial flooring and consistently delivers a high-quality finish.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing commercial vinyl flooring to a high professional standard
• Measuring, cutting, fitting and finishing vinyl flooring
• Preparing, repairing, cleaning and levelling subfloors
• Removing existing flooring including carpet, vinyl and tiles
• Applying adhesives, compounds, grout and sealants
• Completing detailed finishing work including trims, transitions and mouldings
• Reading plans, drawings and specifications
• Ensuring accurate layouts and professional finishes
• Identifying and resolving installation issues
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Safely operating hand and power tools
• Travelling between commercial and remote project locations
• Working independently while contributing positively to the wider project team

Actual earnings will depend on hourly rate, hours worked, overtime, project requirements and applicable employment conditions.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for a fully qualified and experienced Commercial Vinyl Floor Installer who can demonstrate a strong track record of delivering high-quality flooring installations.

Ideally, you will have:

• Recognised flooring / vinyl installation qualifications
• Several years of commercial vinyl flooring experience
• Experience working on major commercial projects
• Strong knowledge of commercial vinyl installation techniques
• Excellent subfloor preparation skills
• Ability to work accurately from plans and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail
• High standards of workmanship
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Strong practical problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety
• Good communication skills
• Basic IT literacy

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous:

• Site Safe / equivalent site safety accreditation
• Forklift licence
• F and OSH endorsements
• Experience working on remote projects
• Experience with major commercial flooring contractors
• Experience with healthcare, education, hospitality, mining or other large commercial environments
• Site safety accreditation may be available if required.

Where suitably qualified Australian candidates are unavailable, our client may be prepared to consider international applicants for 482 Skills in Demand (SID) visa sponsorship, subject to Australian Government requirements and the candidate meeting all relevant eligibility criteria.

International candidates should ideally have:

• A recognised qualification relevant to Floor Finishing / Vinyl Flooring Installation
• Significant post-qualification commercial flooring experience
• Experience working on major commercial projects
• Remote-site experience would be advantageous
• The ability to satisfy Australian trade / skills assessment requirements where applicable
• English language proficiency meeting Australian Government requirements
• The ability to satisfy Australian health and character requirements
• A genuine intention and ability to work in Australia
