COMO SOCIALE is a brand-new Italian semi-fine dining restaurant opening in the heart of Ballarat, and we’re looking for passionate, experienced and motivated hospitality professionals to join our opening team.

Our menu celebrates modern Italian flavours, premium local produce, pasta, artisan pizzas, premium steaks, fresh seafood and signature desserts, complemented by craft cocktails, an extensive Italian and Australian wine selection, premium spirits and local tap beers.

HEAD CHEF

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen and help establish the food direction for COMO SOCIALE.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Leading and managing the kitchen team
• Executing a modern Italian menu
• Maintaining exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation
• Menu preparation, recipe development and seasonal specials
• Food costing, ordering and stock control
• Managing food and labour costs
• Rostering and training kitchen staff
• Maintaining food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
• Managing busy service periods
• Working closely with management to develop the menu and kitchen operations

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior chef or Head Chef role
• Italian or modern European cuisine experience preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent understanding of food costing and kitchen operations
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant
• Passion for quality, presentation and consistency
• Reliable, organised and hands-on approach

Salary: $77,000–$85,000 + superannuation, depending on experience.

Visa sponsorship may be available for the right applicant, subject to skills, experience and eligibility.

CHEFS & COOKS

We’re building a strong kitchen team and are looking for experienced:

• Cooks & Chefs
• Experienced Kitchen Hands

We’re looking for people who:

• Have previous commercial kitchen experience
• Take pride in food quality and presentation
• Can work efficiently during busy services
• Maintain excellent cleanliness and organisation
• Are reliable and team-oriented
• Are available for evenings and weekends
• Have a genuine passion for hospitality

Italian cuisine experience is highly regarded, but we’re also happy to train the right candidates.

Salary based on experience.

BARTENDERS

We’re looking for energetic and experienced Bartenders who understand that great drinks are part of the overall dining experience.

Experience with:

• Classic and contemporary cocktails
• Craft cocktails
• Wine service
• Spirits
• Tap beer
• Customer service
• Bar preparation and organisation

Coffee-making experience is essential, as you’ll also be preparing quality espresso coffee.

If you’re confident behind the bar, enjoy working with people and take pride in presentation, we’d love to hear from you.

WAIT STAFF

We’re looking for enthusiastic Wait Staff who are passionate about providing genuine hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

Experience in:

• Restaurant table service
• POS systems
• Customer service
• Food and beverage knowledge
• Wine service
• Upselling food and beverages

Wine knowledge is preferred but not essential.

Most importantly, we’re looking for people with the right attitude, energy and commitment to hospitality.
