Lead the next chapter of one of the Clare Valley's iconic hospitality venues

Clare Country Club is entering an exciting new phase and we're looking for an experienced, passionate and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.

Located in the heart of South Australia's world-renowned Clare Valley, Clare Country Club offers guests premium accommodation, conferencing, weddings, golf and dining, all surrounded by some of Australia's best wineries and regional produce. Just under two hours from Adelaide, the Clare Valley is renowned for its relaxed lifestyle, outstanding food and wine, and strong sense of community.

Recently welcomed into the Accor Franchise network and proudly managed by 1834 Hotels, the property is continuing to evolve, with plans to refurbish and revitalise the restaurant and dining spaces in the near future. This presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to play a key role in shaping the future food offering and guest experience.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll lead all aspects of the kitchen operation while working closely with the leadership team to continue building Clare Country Club's food offering.

The venue caters for a broad range of guests and occasions, including:

• À la carte restaurant service
• Breakfast operations
• Conferences and corporate events
• Weddings and special events
• Golf and leisure guests
• Seasonal functions and promotions

This is a genuine leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to influence menus, develop your team and contribute to the property's ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the kitchen team through positive, hands-on leadership.
• Develop seasonal menus showcasing quality local produce.
• Deliver consistent, high-quality food across all service periods.
• Manage food costs, stock control and purchasing to achieve budget targets.
• Maintain labour costs through effective rostering and workforce planning.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, WHS and HACCP requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the Food & Beverage and Events teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Drive continuous improvement across kitchen operations, systems and standards.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

• An experienced Head Chef or a strong Sous Chef ready to take the next step.
• Passionate about quality food and delivering memorable guest experiences.
• A confident leader who enjoys developing and mentoring teams.
• Commercially minded with strong experience managing food costs and kitchen performance.
• Organised and able to thrive in a busy, multi-faceted hospitality environment.
• Creative, enthusiastic and keen to be part of an exciting period of change.

Experience within hotels, resorts or quality hospitality venues will be highly regarded.
