HEAD CHEF & COOKS WANTED – COMO SOCIALE, BALLARAT

Como Sociale is a brand-new Italian restaurant coming to Ballarat, and we're looking for passionate hospitality professionals to join our kitchen team as we get ready for opening.

We're building a team that cares about great food, consistency, quality and creating an amazing dining experience.

HEAD CHEF – $77,000–$80,000 + Super

We're looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen and help establish the food direction for Como Sociale.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Leading and managing the kitchen team
• Preparing and executing a modern Italian menu
• Maintaining high food quality and presentation standards
• Menu preparation and recipe development
• Food costing, ordering and stock control
• Managing food and labour costs
• Rostering and training kitchen staff
• Ensuring food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
• Maintaining consistency during busy service
• Working closely with management to develop specials and seasonal menus

What we're looking for:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior chef/head chef role
• Strong Italian or modern European cuisine experience preferred
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong understanding of food costing and kitchen operations
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant environment
• Passion for quality food and presentation
• Reliable, organised and hands-on approach

Salary: $77,000–$80,000 + superannuation, depending on experience.

COOKS / CHEFS

We are also looking for experienced Cooks and Chefs to join our opening team.

Positions available:

• Chef de Partie
• Line Cooks
• Junior Cooks
• Experienced Kitchen Hands

We're looking for people who:

• Have previous commercial kitchen experience
• Are passionate about food
• Can work efficiently during busy services
• Take pride in cleanliness and organisation
• Are reliable and team-oriented
• Are available for evenings and weekends

Experience with Italian cuisine is highly regarded, but we're also happy to train the right candidates.
