An opportunity is available for a Consultant Intensivist to join a busy regional critical care service within a modern public hospital environment. This position offers an excellent mix of clinical acuity, procedural exposure, and work-life balance within a growing health service servicing a large regional catchment.
The ICU provides high-quality multidisciplinary care with strong support from anaesthetics, emergency medicine, medical specialties, surgery, and retrieval services. Consultants are supported by experienced nursing teams, registrars, HMOs, and allied health staff.
This role would suit either an experienced Intensivist seeking a regional leadership opportunity or a newly qualified Fellow looking to establish themselves within a supportive department. The Role
Provide specialist intensive care services across a mixed adult ICU
Participate in a shared consultant roster with on-call responsibilities
Contribute to outreach, rapid response, and perioperative critical care
Support junior medical staff through supervision and teaching
Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and departmental planning
Requirements
FANZCA with CICM qualification or FCICM
Eligible for registration with AHPRA
IMG candidates assessed as substantially comparable encouraged to apply
Demonstrated commitment to high-quality multidisciplinary intensive care practice
