THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a senior commercial appointment with responsibility for shaping and directing Super Metal's international sales and marketing function.

You will convert market intelligence into clear strategy, establish profitable overseas channels, negotiate major supply arrangements and coordinate the internal functions required to deliver consistent export outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1 - Strategy & Market Development

• Develop and execute the international sales and marketing strategy, annual plan and budget.
• Identify priority countries, customer segments, commodity opportunities and routes to market.
• Direct market research, competitor analysis, brand positioning and market-entry planning.

2 - Sales & Commercial Leadership

• Set sales, export-volume, margin and customer-acquisition targets and monitor performance.
• Establish pricing frameworks, contract parameters, credit settings and approval controls.
• Lead negotiations for major supply, offtake, agency and distribution arrangements.

3 - Customer & Channel Management

• Build and manage strategic relationships with overseas buyers, mills, smelters, traders and agents.
• Develop account plans, distributor expectations and service standards for priority markets.
• Represent Super Metal at relevant trade events, industry meetings and customer engagements.

4 - Marketing & Brand Growth

• Direct international campaigns, trade communications and digital marketing initiatives.
• Ensure marketing materials accurately communicate product grades, capability and value proposition.
• Measure campaign effectiveness and refine investment toward commercially productive channels.

5 - Export Delivery & Coordination

• Coordinate procurement, processing, inventory, quality, logistics, finance and compliance teams.
• Align product availability and specifications with customer contracts and shipping schedules.
• Monitor commercial, currency, counterparty and market risks affecting export performance.

6 - Governance & Team Capability

• Maintain forecasts, pipeline reporting, budgets, KPIs and executive performance reports.
• Develop sales procedures, customer records and disciplined contract-management practices.
• Lead internal sales personnel and external representatives as the international function grows.

The Experience You Bring

• A bachelor degree in marketing, commerce, international business or a related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience.
• At least five years of relevant sales and marketing experience, including demonstrated responsibility for strategy, targets and commercial outcomes.
• Experience in metal recycling, commodities, automotive recycling, industrial products or a closely related B2B sector.
• A proven record of developing international markets and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong commercial judgement, analytical ability, stakeholder leadership and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Capacity to travel interstate and internationally.
• An additional language relevant to target markets is advantageous.
• A network across international metals, recycling, manufacturing or commodity markets will be highly regarded.
