We are seeking experienced Japanese Kitchen Cooks / Chefs to join our team. Opportunities are available across sushi, sashimi (cold section) and hot kitchen.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in Japanese cuisine, sushi bars, izakaya or busy commercial kitchens. Visa sponsorship (482 visa) is available for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present sushi, sashimi and Japanese hot food to a high standard
Work across cold section and hot kitchen (grill, fryer, robata, yakitori)
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
Ensure consistency, portion control and quality during service
Assist with prep, stock rotation and daily kitchen operations
Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Requirements
Experience in Japanese cuisine (sushi, sashimi, izakaya or similar)
Minimum 3+ years of experience in Japanese cuisine is required.
Strong knife skills and seafood handling experience
Ability to work under pressure in a busy commercial kitchen
Previous experience working in Japanese restaurants is required.
Reliable, punctual and team-oriented attitude
Full working rights in Australia or open to 482 visa sponsorship
