About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Laundry Supervisor to join our growing commercial laundry operation in Cairns. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day laundry operations, ensuring linen is processed efficiently, safely, and to a consistently high standard.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced laundry, hospitality, hotel, or production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily laundry operations and production.
• Lead, train, and support laundry team members.
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor staff productivity.
• Ensure linen is washed, dried, ironed, folded, sorted, and packed to required standards.
• Operate and oversee commercial laundry equipment and machinery.
• Monitor linen quality and ensure items meet customer and company standards.
• Identify and report damaged, stained, or missing linen.
• Ensure customer orders are accurately prepared and dispatched on time.
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing linen and assist with stock control.
• Monitor chemical usage and ensure correct laundry procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment and report any machinery faults promptly.
• Ensure production targets and delivery deadlines are consistently met.
• Work closely with management and the delivery team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Assist with rostering and staff scheduling as required.
• Maintain accurate production and stock records.
• Support continuous improvement of laundry processes and efficiency.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a commercial laundry, hotel laundry, hospitality, or production environment.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Physically fit and comfortable with a hands-on role.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Current driver's licence.
