Your next career opportunity
As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Applied Mathematics, you will drive an independent, high quality research programme.
You will contribute to innovative curriculum and teaching across undergraduate and MSc programs and supervise research students.
You will have opportunities to collaborate with leading researchers across disciplines, both within mathematics and statistics and outside of the school.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conduct independent research, disseminate results in leading outlets, and contribute actively to research seminars and conferences.
Seek and secure external research funding, and supervise MSc and PhD students within an inclusive, supportive research environment.
Prepare, deliver, and assess undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, including curriculum development and effective use of modern technologies.
Provide academic mentoring, oversee coursework study programmes, and lead education for diverse student groups.
Provide leadership and service to the school, university, and the discipline.
You may be a great fit if:
Hold a PhD or equivalent research higher degree in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrate research excellence through strong publications and an emerging or established international reputation, relative to opportunity.
Show capacity to strengthen the school’s research and education activities and broaden existing thematic strengths.
Build productive research collaborations and attract competitive funding through national or international grant or contract schemes.
Design and teach subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with clear evidence of supervision potential.
Contribute collegially to a large school, including leadership and service , professional activity, and engagement with diverse communities.
You are a passionate and accomplished female researcher in applied mathematics with a strong commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to contribute to a diverse academic community.
You may also:
Hold a PhD in applied mathematics or a closely related discipline.
Have a strong publication record in top-quality, discipline-recognised outlets.
Possess the ability to secure research funding through competitive grant schemes.
Demonstrate excellent teaching skills and experience in curriculum development.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
