A leading and well-established Australian food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Mill Manager to take full responsibility for its milling operations across multiple sites in South Australia.
This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to drive operational performance, lead large teams, and optimise end-to-end production within a highly regarded manufacturing environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Mill Manager will oversee the complete milling function, from grain intake through to finished product output, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance across all operations.
The role will also take responsibility for multi-site management, leading teams and coordinating maintenance, production, and supply chain functions. Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day milling operations, including grain intake, storage, processing, and product output
Lead and develop teams of Millers, Operators, and support staff
Oversee multi-site operations, ensuring consistency and performance across locations
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production efficiency and reduce costs
Monitor and report on production KPIs, including extraction rates and operational performance
Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure plant reliability and performance
Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety, and quality standards (HACCP / ISO)
Manage supplier inputs and coordinate with internal departments to maintain production flow
Oversee non-conformance processes and implement corrective actions
About You
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate:
Extensive experience in flour, wheat, grain, or similar milling operations
Proven background in a senior leadership role within manufacturing or processing environments
Experience managing large teams and multi-site operations
Strong understanding of milling systems, plant operations, and production processes
Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements and cost efficiencies
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
