We are experiencing a period of growth at Griffith Base Hospital and are expanding the Specialist Paediatric team, we have multiple opportunities for Staff Specialist Paediatricians, we are flexible to be able to offer full and part-time, permanent and fixed term contract options.

Our Paediatricians have a passion for providing world class paediatric services in a rural environment. As key figures you will promote patient quality and safety whilst providing leadership, training, supervision, and education.

The hospital has a 10 inpatient beds on the Children's Ward, 4 day surgery beds in the paediatric ward and 4 Special Care Nursery beds. There are approximately 600 births per year.

Griffith Base Hospital is associated with four universities - University of New South Wales, University of Wollongong, University of Notre Dame and Charles Sturt University. Medical students are based in Griffith for year-long rotations and short four week rotations. The University of New South Wales runs a twelve month research program for medical students in Griffith.

Specialist medical officers have the opportunity to teach and supervise medical students. All four of the universities can offer conjoint academic appointments.

• Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Paediatrics at the role delineation of the service.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
• Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
• Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
