VW Tech is a well-established automotive workshop based in Wallan, Victoria. We specialise in European vehicles while also servicing and repairing all makes and models. With a strong focus on quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics and honest customer service, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic (Light Vehicle) to join our growing team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled vehicle servicing and preventative maintenance, including engine oil and filter replacement, tune-ups and general mechanical servicing.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect, maintain and repair petrol engines and associated mechanical components.
• Service and repair transmissions, suspension, steering and braking systems.
• Replace brake pads, brake rotors, suspension components and other worn or faulty parts.
• Dismantle engines, transmissions and other mechanical assemblies for inspection, testing and repair.
• Reassemble mechanical components and ensure repairs are completed to a high standard.
• Identify and rectify vehicle faults using manufacturer specifications, technical information and service manuals where required.
• Perform vehicle inspections and identify required or recommended repairs.
• Test vehicles following repairs to confirm correct operation.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.

Skills and Experience Required

• Recognised trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic (Light Vehicle) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 12 months' relevant industry experience.
• Sound knowledge of modern light vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience with servicing, brakes, suspension, engines and transmission systems.
• Ability to read and follow manufacturer repair information and technical procedures.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Current driver's licence.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
• Experience working with European vehicles, particularly Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, will be highly regarded.

About the Role

This is a full-time position offering stable employment in a supportive and family-friendly workshop environment. The successful applicant will work alongside an experienced team and have the opportunity to develop their skills across a wide variety of vehicles and repair work.

Salary: $78,000-$83,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Visa sponsorship may be available for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate who meets the requirements of the position. Remuneration will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
