About Dessert Corner

Dessert Corner is Melbourne's first premium Indian Fusion Dessert brand. Since 2020, we've built a loyal following through innovative desserts, authentic street food and exceptional customer experiences.

As we continue expanding our restaurant network, we're looking for an experienced Multi-Site Head Chef to lead our culinary operations, drive consistency across all locations, and play a key role in the next phase of our growth.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Directors, you'll oversee kitchen operations across multiple Dessert Corner locations while leading menu development, culinary standards, team performance and operational excellence.

This is a strategic leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building systems, mentoring chefs, improving kitchen performance and creating exceptional Indian fusion dining experiences.

You won't simply run one kitchen—you'll help shape the future of our entire food operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead culinary operations across multiple restaurant locations
• Develop, refine and standardise Indian Fusion menus across all sites
• Create and maintain recipes, portion specifications and preparation standards
• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation and customer experience across every location
• Recruit, train, mentor and develop Head Chefs, Sous Chefs and kitchen teams
• Conduct regular kitchen audits to ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and operational standards
• Drive continuous improvement in kitchen systems and workflow
• Monitor food costs, labour efficiency, wastage and kitchen profitability
• Manage supplier relationships and assist with purchasing strategies
• Collaborate with Directors on menu innovation, seasonal specials and new product development
• Support new restaurant openings, kitchen setup and staff training
• Work closely with Operations Managers to continually improve business performance

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience in senior kitchen leadership
• Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef or Multi-Site Chef preferred
• Strong expertise in authentic Indian cuisine and Indian street food
• Experience developing recipes and standard operating procedures
• Proven ability to lead and mentor multiple kitchen teams
• Strong understanding of food costing, inventory management and kitchen KPIs
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
• Sound knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP and compliance requirements
• Ability to travel between Melbourne locations
• Passionate about coaching people and building high-performing teams
