Your next career opportunity
You will lead internationally recognised research and education in oral, head and neck oncology across medicine and dentistry. You will shape multidisciplinary collaborations with hospitals and tumour boards that improve patient outcomes and train future oral health and medical specialists.
What you will deliver:
Lead a high-impact clinical and translational research program in oral, head and neck oncology.
Design and deliver evidence-based teaching and clinical training across BOH, DDS and DCD oral medicine programs.
Supervise and mentor HDR candidates, clinician-scientists and early career researchers in dentistry and medicine.
Secure competitive external funding and lead interdisciplinary collaborations with hospitals, research centres and tumour boards.
Provide strategic leadership and service within Melbourne Dental School, Melbourne Medical School and the wider Faculty.
You may be a great fit if you:
Hold an MD and a PhD in dentistry focused on oral, head and neck oncology.
Bring at least twenty years’ academic experience across otolaryngology, surgery and oral medicine or pathology.
Demonstrate a distinguished research record with sustained funding, high-quality publications and successful HDR supervision.
Excel in designing and delivering medical and dental education, including oral medicine and head and neck pathology.
Build and sustain collaborations with universities, hospitals, tumour boards and interdisciplinary research partners.
Manage complex academic responsibilities with strong organisational skills and a collaborative, inclusive leadership approach.

Melbourne Dental School is internationally recognised for excellence in oral health education, clinical training and translational research. Located within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, it works closely with the Melbourne Medical School. You will collaborate with hospital-based departments and leading clinician-scientists on impactful, multidisciplinary education and research programs. The School offers a supportive, values-driven culture and strong infrastructure, partnerships and career development opportunities.
