We are seeking Registered Nurses with mental health qualifications and/or experience to join our Adult Inpatient Acute and Adult Inpatient Recovery teams across Tasmania.

The Role

The role offers diverse opportunities to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting consumers across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including inpatient and residential services, Hospital in the Home, community, forensic, and correctional health services. You will contribute to the delivery of care within Statewide Mental Health Services, including Adult, Older Persons, Child and Youth, Alcohol and Drug, and Forensic Mental Health Services.

You will need

• Current knowledge and experience in and the ability to apply nursing principles and procedures in the delivery of consumer care in acute adult mental health in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council competency standards for Registered Nurses.
• Knowledge and understanding of the psychosocial and health needs of individuals and their application to nursing practice in the acute adult mental health setting, including an understanding of the principles of maintaining appropriate therapeutic relationships with consumers.
• Knowledge of National Mental Health Standards and continuous quality improvement and the application of evidence-based practice in a clinical setting.
