Your next career opportunity
You will drive advanced computational models in Julia to understand pest responses to changing climates.
You will master an existing modelling framework and help refine it. You will shape flexible research directions, collaborate with field and lab teams, supervise students and contribute to teaching.
Conduct high quality biophysical ecology research aligned with the ARC project on climate responses of pests.
Develop, refine and apply quantitative models of organisms and environments using advanced computational and mathematical approaches.
Publish research in high impact journals, present at conferences, and engage with national and international collaborators.
Contribute to teaching in the School of BioSciences, equivalent to one semester-long course each year.
Support and co-supervise research students, fostering open science, collegiality, equity, diversity and inclusion.
Hold, or are near completing, a PhD in theoretical ecology, control theory, computational biology or related discipline.
Demonstrate strong quantitative skills and experience in computational biology, environmental biophysics, control theory or dynamical systems modelling.
Show an emerging track record of high quality publications and well-prepared reports or manuscripts.
Learn new tools quickly, including the Julia language and bespoke modelling frameworks, with minimal supervision.
Collaborate effectively with diverse field, lab and industry partners and support supervision of research students.
