Construction | Australia (Sydney based, QLD market first, national build-out)

We're working with a high-performing recruitment business that's investing heavily into its Construction division, with a clear plan to scale nationally.

They're looking to hire a Senior / Principal Consultant to take ownership of a warm desk in Queensland from the Sydney office (with regular travel as required), with a view to building out a national vertical (VIC, SA, WA, NT, TAS) alongside an experienced leadership team.

The Opportunity

This is not a typical “start from scratch” build.

You'll step into:

Live roles and warm relationships with 10-20 construction firms already active (Brisbane & Darwin)

A clear market entry point in Queensland, with immediate revenue potential

The opportunity to expand nationally across every major state outside of Sydney

Close collaboration with two Directors who already lead the Sydney market

The focus is across commercial Tier 1-3 construction, working permanent roles across both commercial and residential projects.
There's genuine momentum here, and with strong pipelines heading into 2026, the expectation is that you come in and build quickly on what's already moving.

The Role

Take ownership of the Queensland construction desk

Deliver across permanent roles within commercial and residential construction

Develop and expand relationships with existing clients

Drive new business across additional states as the desk scales

Work closely with leadership to shape national growth strategy

Who They're Looking For

Senior or Principal level recruiter (this is not a junior hire)

3+ years' experience with a degree (Construction/Civil/Infrastructure preferred) or 5+ years without a degree (UK/Ireland profiles considered)

Strong billing track record

Commercially minded and able to build markets

Relationship-led, credible operator

Motivated by autonomy, ownership, and earning potential
