The short version

A specialist tech, digital and financial services recruitment business is hiring a Senior Consultant onto its Melbourne technology desk. Part of a global workforce solutions group of more than 300 people, over 10,000 roles filled, and a client list that runs from global technology platforms and ASX listed brands through to fast scaling start-ups.

The desk

Technology hiring across software engineering, cloud and infrastructure, ERP, data and AI, product and design. Perm and contract, working with start-ups, scale-ups and enterprise clients. Desks range from high volume contract delivery through to enterprise account partnerships, so there is room to shape yours around what you are actually best at.

What you would be doing

Running a 360 technology desk across perm and contract

Developing new business alongside a warm base of existing technology accounts

Owning the full process from brief through to offer management and aftercare

Building and holding a contract book as well as permanent placements

Working to quarterly gross margin targets with a clear commission ladder behind them

Mentoring junior consultants and delivery support as the desk grows

What they are looking for

Two years or more in agency recruitment on a technology or digital desk

A track record you can evidence: monthly or weekly gross profit, placement volume, average fee

Comfortable selling into engineering and product leaders, not just talent teams

Contract experience is a strong advantage, but perm specialists will be considered

Available to start before Christmas, or January 2027 at the latest

Visa and sponsorship

Sponsorship is available for the right person. The threshold is a degree plus two years of relevant experience, or five years of experience without a degree. Preference is for candidates who can arrive initially on a working holiday visa and transition from there.

UK citizens get Medicare access on arrival through the Reciprocal Health Agreement. There is a settling in process in place and a meaningful part of the team has already made the same move from the UK.
