Star Metal is a leading fabricator with a large workshop - and has fabrication opportunities in both the Industrial, and Architectural Metalwork divisions.  We work with tier 1 & 2 builders on large well known projects and have completed significant projects for BHP and Rio Tinto recently, among others, through our Industrial division.

We fabricate and install a wide diversity of projects and work packages, these include

• Balustrading & handrails
• Electrical switchboard enclosures
• Custom fencing and gates
• Perforations and facades
• Louvres general steel fabrication

We currently have positions for:

A Steel / SS / Aluminium Fabricator

Specific responsibilities will include:

·         Mig/tig welding experience essential

• Fabricating framing from start to finish
• Experience welding stainless steel handrails / balustrades would be ideal
• Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques
• An understanding of blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements

A Sheet metal fabricator

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Minimum 3-5 years metal trade experience, particularly sheet metal
• Experience welding sheet metal cabinets / switchboards
• General fabrication experience
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
