Omega Medical is currently partnering with several well-established healthcare providers across Melbourne, seeking experienced Sonographers to join their imaging teams on a permanent basis.

About the Role

As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations and working collaboratively with medical practitioners and other healthcare professionals to assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of a range of medical conditions.

You will join an established imaging team and have the opportunity to work within a professional, patient-focused environment with access to modern equipment and ongoing clinical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations within your recognised scope of practice
• Operating sonographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
• Assessing the motion, shape and composition of organs, tissues, blood flow and other anatomical structures
• Identifying and documenting relevant sonographic findings
• Providing preliminary findings and appropriate clinical information to referring medical practitioners
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Explaining procedures and technical information to patients in a clear and reassuring manner
• Maintaining a high standard of patient care, privacy and professionalism
• Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintaining appropriate infection control, safety and professional standards

About You

• An appropriate recognised qualification in Medical Sonography
• Current ASAR accreditation or willingness and eligibility to obtain it
• Demonstrated experience working as a Sonographer
• Ability to practise confidently within your clinical scope
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Sound clinical judgement and decision-making skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
