Our client is looking for a Vascular Sonographer to join our client's team in a newly established, purpose-built private vascular and endovascular practice in Cairns. This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly specialised setting focused on vascular imaging, venous disease, and integrated patient care.
Led by a specialist team, the practice delivers a broad range of vascular and endovascular services, including arterial disease assessment, aneurysm management, dialysis access, and venous care. The clinic has been designed to provide a streamlined patient journey from consultation through to intervention and follow-up, with a strong emphasis on quality, precision, and continuity of care.
About the position:
This role will suit a sonographer with vascular ultrasound experience who is looking for a focused and rewarding caseload in a boutique specialist environment. Our client is open to both permanent and locum applicants and is also able to consider international candidates requiring visa sponsorship.
The position involves a dedicated vascular workload, including:
Arterial and venous duplex ultrasound
Venous insufficiency studies
Procedural mapping and treatment planning
Follow-up vascular imaging
Clinical collaboration with a vascular surgeon
Exposure to endovenous procedures including ablation, VenaSeal and sclerotherapy
This is not a high-volume general sonography role. Instead, it offers the chance to work in a clinically integrated setting where imaging directly informs treatment decisions and patient outcomes.
The practice uses Mindray equipment, and training can be provided by an Application Specialist for sonographers who have not previously worked on this platform.
Key Requirements:
Experience in vascular ultrasound is highly regarded
Ability to perform arterial and venous duplex studies
Interest in venous disease and procedural imaging
Strong patient care and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a specialist-led setting
