Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is Tasmania's largest hospital and major referral centre. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH collaborates with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine provides a comprehensive range of general and specialist clinical anaesthesia services including trauma, paediatric surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular and obstetrics specialities. Anaesthesia services are also provided for Interventional Cardiology, Endoscopy Unit and Medical Imaging Department including Interventional Radiology, CT/MRI and PET scan. We also provide an Acute Pain Service and Perioperative Medicine service.
The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine is a high-quality specialist teaching department with significant research activity. We participate in multi-centre research trials and encourage local research. We have strong links with University of Tasmania Faculty of Health Science and the Menzies Research Centre.

Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award
A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority.
Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $222,789 through to Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $305,539 with further salary increments available.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
