Shift times vairy but we are very keen to speak with experienced Vet Nurses who can do the 1:30pm - 12am shifts
The Opportunity
The Veterinary Nurse will provide high-quality clinical care and support across a busy hospital environment, ensuring excellent outcomes for patients, clients, and the wider community.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing clinical care as directed by veterinary services
Monitoring animal welfare and wellbeing, escalating concerns where required
Identifying infectious diseases and following appropriate reporting protocols
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical nursing records
Independently conducting patient triage and escalating urgent cases
Performing CPR in accordance with RECOVER guidelines
Monitoring patients under anaesthesia for routine and emergency procedures
Blood collection, IV catheter placement, and clinical pathology
Working independently across areas such as intensive care, surgery, and night services
Maintaining cleanliness of consulting rooms, clinical spaces, and reception using correct infection control procedures and PPE
Assisting with training and mentoring junior nursing staff
Supervising veterinary nursing students during clinical placements
About You
This role will suit a nurse who is confident, compassionate, and motivated by delivering high standards of veterinary care in a team-focused environment.
You will bring:
A minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in an animal hospital, busy clinic, or shelter environment
Formal qualifications in Veterinary Nursing (Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing or Certificate IV – essential)
Strong independent triage and multitasking capabilities
Excellent communication skills
High emotional intelligence and self-awareness
The ability to work effectively within a large, diverse team
Additional training or special interests will be highly regarded
