As the Lead Surgical Veterinarian, you will manage a varied and rewarding surgical caseload, provide clinical leadership, mentor developing veterinarians and nurses, and play a key role in expanding and enhancing the hospital's surgical services.

Description

• Perform a wide range of routine and advanced small-animal surgical procedures.
• Diagnose, treat and manage medical and surgical patients with confidence and professionalism.
• Lead the management of complex surgical and hospitalised cases.
• Interpret diagnostic imaging, pathology and laboratory results to guide clinical decision-making.
• Develop comprehensive treatment plans and communicate effectively with clients.
• Mentor and coach veterinarians and veterinary nurses in surgical techniques, clinical reasoning and best practice.
• Promote clinical excellence and contribute to the ongoing development of the surgical department.
• Maintain exceptional medical records and uphold the highest standards of patient care.

Minimum Requirements

• The ideal candidate is an experienced surgeon who combines excellent clinical ability with natural leadership and a genuine passion for mentoring others.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science.
• Eligibility for registration as a Veterinary Surgeon in Western Australia.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in small-animal medicine and surgery.
• Advanced soft tissue surgical skills with confidence managing a broad surgical caseload.
• Outstanding communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes and client service.

Advantageous

• Postgraduate qualifications in Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging or Ultrasound (MANZCVS, GradCert or equivalent).
