We are a fast-growing e-commerce company operating multiple warehouses across Australia, with a large and diverse product range (5,000+ SKUs), including high-value items. Due to rapid growth and peak-season sales, we are strengthening our internal controls and are now looking for a dedicated Warehouse Team Leader / Inventory Coordinator to take full ownership of our inventory accuracy and processes.
Role Overview
This role is fully responsible for inventory accuracy, control processes, and risk prevention across all warehouses. You will work closely with warehouse supervisors, operations, and customer service teams to ensure stock movements are properly recorded, discrepancies are identified early, and inventory losses are prevented.
This is a hands-on, operational role, not a purely desk-based position.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Accuracy
· Take full ownership of inventory accuracy across all warehouses
· Maintain and reconcile inventory records for inbound, outbound, transfers, and returns
· Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, variances, and losses
· Conduct regular cycle counts and oversee periodic stocktakes
Multi-Warehouse Coordination
· Manage and monitor inter-warehouse stock transfers
· Ensure all transfers are properly recorded, confirmed, and reconciled
· Track in-transit inventory and follow up on outstanding discrepancies
Process & System Improvement
· Establish and enforce standard inventory control procedures and documentation
· Improve manual processes and support the implementation of inventory systems and barcode scanning
· Work with management to gradually upgrade inventory tools and workflows
Returns & Exception Handling
· Control returned stock and ensure correct classification (sellable, non-sellable, pending inspection)
· Prevent returned items from being incorrectly re-counted or lost
Reporting & Risk Management
· Provide regular inventory reports, variance analysis, and risk alerts
· Identify high-risk SKUs and areas prone to inventory loss
· Support management in decision-making related to stock planning and control
Required Experience & Skills
· 3+ years’ experience in inventory control, stock management, or warehouse operations
· Experience managing inventory across multiple warehouses
· Strong understanding of stock movements, transfers, and reconciliation
· High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
· Comfortable working with Excel and inventory systems (WMS / ERP experience preferred)
· Ability to work independently and take full ownership of results
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
· Experience in e-commerce or high-SKU environments
· Experience handling high-value or bulky products
· Experience introducing or improving barcode / scanning processes
· Mandarin speaking ability is highly regarded, as the role will liaise with overseas suppliers and internal teams
